Struck for King Charles I from 1638 to 1639 (Anchor mint mark, ob and rx at 12:00).

S-2797, 5.88g, approx 31mm.

Great portrait with full bold legends.

Well struck on full circular flan.

Obverse: bust of Charles facing left, mark of value XII behind head, mint mark above: CAROLVS D G MA BR FR ET HI REX (Charles by the grace of god king Great Britain, France and Ireland).

Reverse: arms of Great Britain, France and Ireland: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO (I rule under the auspices of Christ, relates to the divine right of kings).
