- Fides was the goddess of trust, good faith and honesty. Her temple on the Roman Capital was where the Roman Senate signed and kept the state treaties with other foreign countries, and its where Fides protected them. She was also worshipped under the name "Fides Publica Populi Romani " which means "Trust of the Roman People".
