Struck for King Charles I from 1635 to 1636 (Crown mint mark, ob and rx at 12:00).

Obverse: bust of Charles facing left, mark of value XII behind head, mint mark above: CAROLVS D G MA BR BR ET HIB REX (Charles by the grace of god king Great Britain, France and Ireland). Note: BR legend error for FR.

Reverse: arms of Great Britain, France and Ireland: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO (I rule under the auspices of Christ, relates to the divine right of kings).

Certified by NGC to XF 45, Population Census: 3 coins, only 6 higher.

Lightly toned with lustrous surfaces.

Full readable legends with great portrait.

Well struck for a hammered coin, very pleasing in hand.
