Struck at the Culiacan Mint (mint mark C), assayer CE.

Certified by NGC to AU 58, lustrous & reflective fields, especially the peripheral surfaces.

Some engraving varieties: Obverse: assayer C over smaller C; Reverse: X/X in MEXICANA.

Dunigan Cn11: "Slightly scarce. This coin is more available than the 1855 and more difficult to obtain than the 1857. As with the 1855, almost all are weakly struck and often have planchet problems."
