Fine James II Ireland Gun Money 1/2 crown coin dated October 1689 issued during his rebellion after the "Glorious Revolution" of William and Mary.
"Gun Money" was an emergency coinage made from cannon, church bells, etc used for payment of the rebellion military.
Obverse: laureate head of James facing left.
Reverse: Crown with crossed scepters and date 1689 XXX (mark of value = 30 pence = 1/2 crown) above and Oct. below.
